Description

Comprised of people under 36, the Military Ridge Area Young Democrats (MRAYD) is a chapter of the Young Democrats of America (YDA) serving the counties of Iowa, Grant, Green, Layette, and parts of Dane. Our primary objective is to help the Democratic Party gain influence throughout the Nation and particularly in Wisconsin. Members are involved in a wide range of activities – hands on voter contact, calling voters, publicity, fundraising, community service, technical coordination, blogging. Any level of participation is welcomed and no activity is compulsory.

Activities

MRAYD works in close collaboration with the Iowa County Democratic Party (Iowa County Dems), State Assemblyperson Steve Hilgenberg, U.S. Representative Ron Kind, and Barack Obama for America. Members have been involved in canvassing, phone banking, parades, dinners, house parties, and even Barack Obama for America sports teams. MRAYD is prided for its efficient end extensive web based organization structure, which is the most effective way to promote the Democratic platform and Democratic candidates and causes among young people.

About the Young Democrats of America

The Young Democrats of America (YDA) was established in 1931 and quickly became the official youth arm of the Democratic Party. The largest youth-led political organization in the world, YDA currently consists of over 150,000 members in over 2,000 chapters situated in 46 U.S. States and Territories.
